Due to the COVID 19 crisis, we will not have service in in the sanctuary March 22. Pastor Lennie will continue his teaching series "Enemies of the Kingdom" at 11 AM on the Facebook page. Follow us here.
I wanted to update you on some of our plans moving forward this month. As Elders, we believe it is our responsibility to help navigate our church through not only times of growth and excitement, but also through times of uncertainty.
It is in this spirit that we are making the decision to honor the counsel of local government, as well as other advisers during this time to cancel worship gatherings beginning March 22nd. In addition, we will continue to weekly monitor the situation and discern if any additional future gatherings will need to be cancelled. We will make all updates readily available. We are making plans to continue our Teaching Series via Facebook at 11 on Sunday.
We would also recommend that other weekly programs of Crossview Church consider following suit for the time being in order to effectively practice social distancing.
This decision does not come from a place of fear, but rather a place of wisdom and understanding. With so many organizations either mandated to cancel events, or voluntarily doing so, our failure to comply would appear unwise or even smug to our community.
As you may be aware, expenses of the church are not halted during a season like this. Those who consider Crossview their home church can continue giving in one of three ways:
1. Our website, crossviewakron.com/giving, has been updated this week for those who would like to give electronically.
2. For those who use Zelle, you can send it to username: Crossview Church Inc,
3. For those who prefer a physical mode of giving, please mail checks or money order made out to Crossview Church at 737 George Washington Blvd. Akron, OH 44312.
Ultimately, the church is not a building or a program, but the people of God! This is a chance for us to continue to shine the light of His love, even if looks a little differently than what we are used to.
“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” Proverbs 18:10
You were made to belong somewhere, to believe in something greater than yourself, and to become something more than you thought possible. We believe these are needs that every person experiences, and they can be fulfilled through the very God who put these desires in our hearts in the first place. We are a group of people who are learning what this means together.
